Random

I don't have much to say today because I'm feeling a little under the weather. That is A-O-K though because I'd rather be sick today...as long as I'm well by Saturday! What is Saturday you ask? (or didn't ;) it will be my first night out with the girls in well over a year!! So needless to say, this Momma is in DESPERATE need of some girl time! :) I'm sure the majority of the time will be spent thinking or talking about my children, but it'll still be fun! :) We are all heading out around 4pm to go bridesmaid dress shopping (my friend Mary is getting married in June 2010) and then heading out for dinner and drinks. Dare I say I'll actually have a Steppin Out Saturday post on Sunday morning!??!?! YAY me!!! :) My hubby's grandmother is coming down to visit hubby and the kiddos. She's just going to spend the night which works out perfectly so hubby can come and pick me up when I'm ready to come home! :)

And for good measure...
Oh the days of getting a "real" picture of Manuel are long gone!!! :)
I ADORE this picture of Manny and Mia!
What I wear when I'm NOT Stepping Out ;)...don't be jealous of my Sn00py Christmas pants! :)
My beautiful little girl, standing! :) Her physical therapy is working wonders! :)

Mobile Monday

To say that I HATE traffic, is an understatement, but I try and make the best of it. Mia was asleep in the back seat, we were stopped at red light and I looked in my mirror and saw this...

Happy Monday! :)

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Thank you for your encouraging words about my last post. I'm sure I"ll be asking for prayers again, as it gets closer. I know it's all in God's hands, but mommies worry, that's their job! :)

More pics from this weekend coming soon! I know you'll be holding your breath with anticipation! ;)

Prayers for Mia (and me :)

It was determined a few weeks ago, by Mia's nephrologist (kidney doctor) that Mia would need a DMSA scan in the near future. Well, we finally got word today that her scan is scheduled for November 23, 2010 at 9am. We have to be there at 9am, her scan time is 11am. I'm going to be honest here and say I am scared to death! Scared of what the scan will determine? No. I'm looking forward to having answers as to why her left kidney is significantly smaller then her right one. I am scared to death of her being sedated! :( Although Manuel has been through A LOT (medically speaking-spinal taps, CT scans, x-rays, etc.) in his 4.5 years, he's never had to be sedated. I'm scared to death of this happening to Mia. My husband is also taking off work, so he can be there to support me. I'm sure I'll break down. I cry over EVERYTHING, but especially when it involves my children. I keep trying not to think about it because it's almost 2 weeks away, and what's the point in dwelling on it for two weeks, but still, she's my baby, I'm her mommy and I'm sad she has to go through this. I know being "put under" and "coming to" can be a pretty scary thing to watch and some kids have adverse reactions. I just PRAY, PRAY, PRAY that everything goes smoothly!

Please pray for our family over these next two weeks if you could! :)

Oh, and I almost forgot, since she has to be sedated she can't have a bottle or food after 3am!!! Um, as I mentioned earlier, I've never been through this before, but I would imagine that have a 10 month old (She'll be 10 months old by then) NPO (latin-nothing by mouth) for 10+ hours is not going to be a walk in the park. If anyone has had to do with a child Mia's age, I'd love to hear any suggestions or ideas. It's not like we can sit down and say, "Mia, you have to have a special test done today, so you can't eat or drink until after it's over." She's a baby, she doesn't understand what that means!!! :) All she knows is that mommy and daddy won't let her eat or drink :(

Sorry this post is all over the place, just please pray for my sweet little angel! :)

And for good measure...

Photo Freak Challenge: The BEST pic you have EVER taken

Well, for a mother who is OBSESSED with taking pictures of her children, this contest was really difficult for many reasons...I had a million and one pictures to go through, what happens if my fav ends up being of only one of the kids and not both!??!?!, I'm a TOTAL amateur with a good ol' point and shoot camera who can't even "touch" the awesomeness of some of the other entrants, I don't edit my photos (for the most part) and a trillion other things BUT you know what? That's okay! I narrowed it down to my top 7, and then just ended up FINALLY picking the pic below. It's SOOC, and I just LOVE Mia's eyes, the sunlight on her face, and yes, even the food on her cheeks (hence the reason why she's in the bath! :) Go visit Photo Freak and link up!

RAW(e): Little

I haven't participated in a Raw(e) challenge in awhile because apparently Sami (http://sailorandcompany.blogspot.com/) was TOO busy, having a baby or something! ;) But Raw(e) is back this week. The idea behind this challenge is that you post a SOOC pic, no edits, no fancy shcmanyness (yes, that's a word! ;) So here is my entry for Raw(e): Little

Mia's 1st time at the beach, this past summer.

30 Day Blogger Challenge: Day 30/A Sorta Fairytale Photo Challenge

Today is the last day of Katie's 30 day challenge! :( It's been a lot of fun, given me something to post on uneventful days, and brought me some new friends! :) Thank you Katie for hosting! :)

Day 30: A picture

Also, I'm using this same picture for A Sorta Fairytale Photo Challenge: Windows to the Soul

I LOVE this picture of Manuel! It has always been one of my favs. He and his sister both have those super long eyelashes (like their Mommy! ;). Although he's almost 5, he will ALWAYS be my baby!

The Paper Mama Photo Challenge: Food

I haven't entered a photo challenge in awhile, but I thought I'd give a shot at the Paper Mama's challenge this week..Food

The Paper Mama

One of the first times I actually let Mia "feed" herself and just get messy. I'm not a fan of messes! ;)
