Wordless Wednesday

Saturday morning surprise courtesy of Manuel (actually Manny's fault though because Manuel was just trying to help and get Daddy the animal crackers! :)

I hope everyone is having a great week! :) Mia is on the mend and with it, the "Terrible Two's" seem to REALLY be surfacing! :) Good thing she's cute! :) Manuel is having a great week at school and his school pictures turned out A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!

Pour Your Heart Out: I am blessed

*Ironically enough I wrote this post last Wednesday (the day before Mia got really sick) and just never posted it because I Felt like it was mish mash and all over the place, but without further ado, I'm posting it anyway! :))

It's been a while since I've poured my heart out, so here it goes...

I am blessed! I need to remember that...think it...feel it...believe it...not just on one random morning as I drive into work (like this morning), but EVERYDAY!

I have so much more than so many other people in this world! I'm not just talking about materialistic things, but spiritual/emotional "stuff", an amazing family, an awesome church, etc.

It's so easy to get caught up in the "poor me" of day-to-day life...

I was driving to work today and look over at a stop light and next to me is a school bus full of children. Most of the children were wheel chair bound, not even able to hold their head up on their own. I glance in my rear view and see my sweet, chubby faced baby girl staring back at me. Able to hold her own head up, able to run, able to dance, able to CLIMB ON EVERYTHING, able to sing, able to scream her head off in a tantrum...I had just left my sweet, amazing little boy, as he walked to the car (Manny's car) to get in to head to school, not in a wheelchair, running, skipping, playing, yelling, screaming, talking back. Able to do all things that little 5 year old boys do (even the stuff we don't like! :)) I think I take my life for granted too often, and all the blessings in it. I'm quick to think about what I don't have instead of cherishing all the amazing things I do have. I've been through trials in my life (and more are bound to come in my lifetime), but there are people who have it so much worst. I don't think any one person is more deserving or less deserving of trials, based on the lives they live. Trials come and go. They always have. They always will. You always make it through them, because if you didn't, you wouldn't be sitting there reading this :) God never promised this life would be easy, but that He would be there every step of the way. We just have to remember to turn to Him!

~I don't have the biggest house (heck, we don't even own our own home, we rent)...
But, we have a roof over our heads

~Most of my brand names clothes are consignment shop buys..
But, I have clothes on my back and money to buy clothes

~Some of the food we eat is store brand...
But we never go to bed hungry

~We are literally busting at the seams in our house (you might notice the over abundance of stuff in the background of my pictures! ;))...
But we are blessed that we have "stuff"

~I got married in a courthouse and missed out on the big lavish wedding...
But I have love, friendship, and a marriage that has truly been tested and SURVIVED!

~I miss family members who I'll never see again this side of Heaven...
But because Jesus is my Lord and Savior, I will see them again (hopefully not anytime soon! ;))

~I wish I could spend more time with my children..
But I have a job that helps support our family, and for now that has to be good enough, and I hope one day they will understand.

*As I'm typing this list, some of the things, being written out sound even pettier as I read them (then they do when I even think them!) I mean seriously...we buy non-brand name food...WHO CARES!?!??!? We have food in our cabinets (which is more then some families can say right at this moment!) That's what I'm talking about people! :) ....realizing how much I DO have instead of how much I DON'T have*

Added since I drafted this up:

~My sweet little girl was sick and had to be poked, prodded and hospitalized for a few hours...
But it was "just a virus" and there are SO many parents out there (many parents whose stories I follow) who would give their left arm for them to have been told "its just a virus" instead of cancer :(

My list could go on and on, but I'll stop now as this post is pretty much all over the place and random. It was just on my heart, so I had to share! :))

An update

Hello friends!

I've been missing in action over the last few days here in blogworld, but for good reason. My sweet baby has been very sick since Thursday! :( Friday morning we ended up in the ER...(excuse my ginormous man hand! ;))
I tried getting her into to see her Ped on Thursday afternoon because I knew something was "off". She was feverish, and just not being herself. Unfortunately her Ped (who I ADORE) is on maternity leave, so we were trying to get squeezed in with another ped in the same pratice (a Johns Hopkins practice, might I add). I was basically brushed off (which NEVER happens when her ped is there) as an overly concerned mother who was jumping the gun. They told me they couldn't get Mia any time on Thursday or even Friday. If her fever continued to take her to urgent care. I knew she wouldn't be going to daycare on Friday with a fever, so my mom was watching her. She continued to run a fever all night from Thursday into Friday, and when I took her to my moms on Friday morning (before work), I told her to just take her to urgent care when they opened at 8am, which she did. The doctor there pricked Mia's finger for labs, and told my mom that Mia needed to be seen in the ER because her labs were abnormal. (HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO crazy momma mode!!! The first thing that I think of when I hear abnormal cell counts is Leukemia! (Is that just me being crazy!??! Probably! :)) But anyway, I left work, took Mia to the ER, a strep test, catheter :( and lots of poking and prodding later, we are discharged with, "It's just a virus. It has to run it's course!" My poor baby! :( Now don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's "nothing" BUT sometimes a definite answer is SO much easier to hear then a basic, general answer that makes you feel like they should say, "We don't know what's wrong with her, so we're going to tell you it's a virus!" :) She SEEMS to be on the mend (KNOCK ON WOOD!!) and still not herself, but there was no fever overnight for the first time since Thursday! Please keep her in your prayers that she will be back to her happy self in no time!

Andddddd now for the last week of the month starting at work and I am SO busy! So let's keep our fingers crossed that everyone stays well, Mia is back to normal soon, and Momma keeps her sanity! ;) Honestly, I have NO clue how single parents do it! If I had to do all of this without my husbands help I'd be in the nut house for sure! :)

I hope you all are doing great! Have a great week and hopefully I'll be able to check in soon! :)

The Zoo

We had a WONDERFUL weekend so I'm going to break my posts about over a few days so you're not bombarded with pictures! ;) As I mentioned here, on Saturday we went to my sisters, and honored my nephews, but before that visit, we headed to the National Zoo of Baltimore for a friends daughters 1st birthday. It was a BEAUTIFUL Fall day! We couldn't have ordered more beautiful weather if we tried. It was Mia's first time at the zoo, and she LOVED it! We were worried the animals might be hiding because it was pretty windy, but nope, they were all out, enjoying the day! :)

And for good measure...
 Sweet birthday girl! :)
My sweet babies at the zoo playground
Starting the walk towards the zoo to see all the animals! :)

Getting ready to enter the Chimpanze Forest :)

I LOVE this picture of him and Mia (in the stroller) watching the giraffe eat
 MY LIFE! :)
Watching the elephants so intently :)
My baby and I (his eyes are SO light sensitive hence the reason why he squints in EVERY.SINGLE.PICTURE! :))
The two monkeys acting like the statue monkey! ;)

National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day

October 15th, for those of you who may not know, is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day. It is a day to remember and honor all those sweet babies taken from this planet entirely too soon. As I've mentioned many times before, in May 2008, my sister and her husband lost my triplet nephews, Mateo, Ian and Anthony, due to being born at 23 1/2 weeks. Not a single day goes by that I don't think of my sweet nephews. They are still very much an important part of our family. We went to my sisters house tonight to hang out, and were sure to light the boys candles at 7pm, as my sister and her hubby do every year, to honor the boys, and all the babies called Home too soon. Here are some pics...
Mia and Manuel, honoring their cousins....Vivi, honoring her big brothers (Spencer wanted no part of this photo! :))
Vivi and her brothers candles and figurines
Spencer (and my sister) honoring his brothers

Remembering and praying for all of my blogging friends who have suffered a loss. I think about you all often!

miscellany monday (but it's tuesday :(

Hello friends!

I was SO excited to have 10 minutes to myself to write a post, and I was ready to do a "miscellany monday" post AND then realized it was TUESDAY! :)

So, here goes a miscellany monday post, on a Tuesday! :)

~I took the day off yesterday because the Federal Reserve and banks were closed, so although my company was open, I couldn't fund loans. Can I tell you how guilty I felt for taking a day off!??!?! It was actually pretty redic! I normally work from home, or take off because of sick children (and still work from home), but just to take off FOR NO REASON, was pretty crazy to me! I ended up enjoying my day! :)

~Manny was off too (his work clothes for pretty much all major and bank holidays. He was kind enough to keep Mia for a few hours while I had some "me time".

~Speaking of "me time" the initial part of the day was spent getting my eyes checked due to some pretty massive headaches these last few weeks. My eyes aren't bad BUT I am the proud owner of a glasses! :) (I've never worn glasses before in my life, so it's taking some getting used to), but I kind of like them! ;) I'll have to post a pic soon of my new accessory! ;)
~After getting my glasses, I decided to check out some local consignments shops. I'm not sure about you all, but I don't know where I ever shopped before consignment! (Well actually I do..Target, Walmart, etc. but you get my point! ;)) I LOVE CONSIGNMENT shops, for me and for the kids! You can't beat it! New York and Company jeans, that look BRAND NEW, for $14.00. Absolutely! A Gap sweater for $8.00 only to then find out at checkout it was $4.00!!!!!!!!!!!!! A Charlotte Russe cardigan for $9.00. And don't even get me started on the deals for the kiddos! When children outgrow something in weeks/months, I just don't see ANY sense in buying it full price! This is brand name, in good condition clothing for SO cheap! Once you go consignment, you'll never go back to retail! ;)

~I'm FINALLY at my pre-Manuel weight (after almost 6 years! :)) Better late, than never! I was back down to my pre-Mia weight weeks after I had her, but my pre-Manuel weight took a while longer! ;)

~I haven't talked about the whole running thing for awhile because I haven't been running. After a few weeks my knee was destroyed and I tried to run through the pain, but figured that wasn't wise. Now I just work out several days a week (usually OnDemand Exercise TV that's offered through our cable company) A good work AND free-you can't beat it! :)

~I NEVER talked about the movie Courageous when Manny and I went and saw it a few weeks ago!!!!!!!!! :( One word...AWESOME! It's totally worth the outrageous movie theater prices. GO SEE IT! It's life changing! Especially for a man you might know who is a dad! Thank me later! :)

~This weekend is a friends daughters 1st birthday party at the Baltimore Zoo. I can't wait! The kids are going to have a blast! Hopefully I take pictures! :)

~This weekend is also a playdate with my friends and their kiddos to the local pumpkin patch! This is my FAVORITE time of the year! I can't wait! :)

~I keep trying to convince myself that i need to get involved in a small group at church, now that we aren't teaching Sunday school. I'm SO scared (I know that sounds dumb) but I am SO shy and just scared to venture into a small group. I need to get over it! I know that AMAZING bonds and friendships are formed in these classes. Hopefully God leads me where I need to be!

~I hate blogging "clicks" :( I try not to let it get to me but let's be honest, we're all human. If I take the time to write something heartfelt and meaningful to you, at least take the time to say, "Thank you!" Grant it, you might have 6,000 followers (or somewhere around there! ;) but at least take the 3.5 seconds it takes to click "reply" and say, "Thank you!" Heck, I'll even take a reply that says, "TY" or "Thank u" ;) Just be polite, geez louise! :)

~On a happier note...I've met SO many amazing ladies through blogging. It really is neat how much of a connection you have with people you have never met and may never meet. I love the blogging bond! :)
~Manuel has decided (after 2 classes) that he wants to stick with Tae Kwon Do! YAY!!!!! :)

Okay, I've rambled enough! I hope you all are doing well!

And for good measure...
Yes, she's standing on the counter! Just call me "Mother of the Year!" ;)

Manny and I had an event at church on Sunday night, and when we came home, this is what we saw! My mom told us that Manuel said, "I never get to snuggle with my sister. Can we snuggle?" That kid is too much! :)
The new glasses! (and yes, she's shirtless! :)
Playdate at Chick-Fil-A with my sister, her kiddos, my longtime friend, S and her daughter, A. (Manuel was with Manny at the local farm for some Fall festival thingy, that's why he isn't in any of the pics! :)) We couldn't get a pic of the kids by themselves, so my sister offered to have them (well 3 of them, sit on her lap. This was the best shot :)
 My sweet niece, Vivi! :)

Mia Grace and her cousin :) Sweet girls! :)

Lots Of Words Wednesday ;)

Hello my dear friends! :)

I hope this blog post finds you all doing wonderfully! I was hoping to start off the beginning of the month (workwise) "slow" (just to have some time to recoup from last week), but that's the not case. Oh well, I'm NOT complaining because busy-ness means job security, and I'll take it! :)

Life is going wonderfully! I think I'm on the mend with the cold/sickness that kicked my butt last week/weekend. I'm still not 100% but I'm getting better! :) I'm really at a great place with things, and all I can say is God provides. When you give (even if you think you can't) God returns His gifts in abundance. I'm not really speaking about anything in particular (no, I'm not pregnant! :)) just life in general is going well, and I know I have God to thank for that!

Manny took Manuel last night to try out Tae Kwon Do, and after some coercing on Daddy's part, Manuel agreed to do the 3 class trial period, and see if he likes it. Manuel is SO shy/reserved/scared of trying new things (hmmm, sounds A LOT like his mother!) this him even agreeing to try it is HUGE! I pray, with all my heart, that he likes it and sticks with it. I would love for him to find his niche and find something he excels in. As I've mentioned many times before I'm fine with Manuel not being an athlete (Manny and I are so NOT athletic! :)) but I think Tae Kwon Do will help him learn discipline, confidence, self respect, patience, etc. I know it would do wonders for his little heart, soul and spirit. I'll keep you posted! :)

On Sunday my cousin and her daughter stopped by for a visit (they were in town for the weekend, from NY) and she took some fun pics of the Gomez family just hanging out, and having fun.

And for good measure...(ignore hubbys clothing attire ;) He was already in his "comfies" for the night :)) Also, I know there are WAY more pictures of Mia, and I swear it's not because we love her more ;)...Manuel goes out of his way (literally) to avoid the camera! :))
Mia Grace and Angelina (my cousins daughter)
Manuel and I (there was MAJOR bribery for this pic ;)
Mia and I (and my AWESOME broken out face! ;))

Tickle game/trying to get a good pic! ;)
Coming soon to "Toddlers and Tiaras"...Mia Grace and her Pageant Face! :)
 Just hangin' around ;)
Manuel showing off his Silly Bands
 A calm moment :)
My black and white beauty :)

Take care friends! Have a wonderful Wednesday! :)

It's O-V-E-R

Hello friends!

Boy oh boy have I missed blogging this week! To say this past week was crazy and intense, would be an understatement. I only proceeded to get more sick and more sick since my last post...As last weekend came to end I thought I was on the upswing of my sickness, but that was not the case! I woke up Thursday and felt like death, and needless to say that continued into Friday. I had to just suck it up and deal with it because it was the last few days of the month and work was SO busy! I funded SEVENTY loans on Friday alone. Those of you that aren't familiar with the mortgage business probably have no clue what that means (I know I didn't know what went in to funding a loan) but it's no easy task, however it is an EXTREMELY important step in the refinance/purchase process because I'm responsible for getting the title companies their money! :) When I drove out of work yesterday it felt like Christmas! I was SO glad it was over! :) Sick or not, I didn't care, just walking out the building made me feel a million times better! Now it's over...until the end of this month! ;)

Today we woke up went to a near towns famous Apple Festival! There's a lot of crafts, stuff for the kids, food, etc. We go every year and it's easily one of my favorite Fall things to do. Tomorrow is church, RELAXING, and TRYING to stay awake to watch my Ravens play Sunday night football (I bet I make it until 9pm, IF I'm lucky! ;)) I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. I look forward to catching up on everyones blogs. I hope you all have been doing well! :)

And for good measure...

Waiting patiently to get his hair "dyed" :)
The wild and crazy result :)

She LOVES talking on the phone! I'm not sure where she gets it from because I HATE talking on the phone (seriously!!! :))

Have a great weekend friend! :)
