Please, for her mother and MIL's sake! :-)

I came across this blog, courtesy of C Jane...

www.thekingandiblog.com

She is gathering research for her thesis and needs our help! Take a few minutes, visit her blog and fill out the blog questionnaire she has posted. As incentive she is giving away a $100 gift certificate to two people who fill it out (on or around May 1st). Go ahead, you know you wanna! :) And if I was technically savy enough to know how to post the link DIRECTLY to her post about this questionnaire I would, BUT unfortunately I have no clue. SOOOO go to her blog and on the right hand side, at the top is a link for "Blog Questionnaire"

And in case you were wondering about my post title..she has said that she will not start having children until her thesis is done! :) As mommies, we all know how awesome children are, and everyone needs to have AT LEAST one, so help her out! :)

Welcome Spring!

It's been a long time since I've blogged but I was feeling inspired this morning so I thought, "Why not?" :) Life has been crazy since my last post, as you can imagine with our household going from 3 to 4. That might not seem major to some people but going from 1 child to 2 is a HUGE adjustment, albeit a wonderful adjustment, nonetheless a change! :) The Gomez household is finally settling in and being a mommy of two BEAUTIFUL children is such a blessing. God certainly knows what he is doing when He puts these precious little beings in our lives! No matter how bad of a day I'm having or how TIRED I am, one smile, one coo, one "I love you mommy. Let's snuggle!" makes all of the craziness of the day immediately disappear. Manuel is settling into the role of big brother very well. He calls Mia "my little girl" and it's adorable. I can honestly say it hasn't always been so pleasant. Now don't get me wrong, he has ALWAYS been amazing with Mia since they day he met her, but his 4 year old little mind was old enough to manipulate Manny and I! :) He always wanted to help, hold, feed and play with her, but if goodness forbid we weren't 100% focused on him at any given time he'd let us know. He would throw tantrums, say "You don't love me anymore", "You're going to trade me in now that Mia is here" and the list goes on and on. All normal things to happen as a child is adjusting to a baby in the house but when you are running on no sleep those things can REALLY get to you. At one point I looked at my husband and said, "Oh my goodness what have we done?" Not in a bad way, but I felt like we had "neglected" Manuel for this new little baby. Needless to say all the craziness of the first few weeks has subsided and life is great! Mia is 8 weeks old (she'll be 9 weeks on Monday) and I'm back to work! :( I loved coming back and seeing all my wonderful co-workers, but leaving her was AWFUL! The days leading up to my return to work were heartbreaking to put it lightly and I just had an awful time with it! But when I dropped her off at Linnie's on Monday morning (a daycare lady that is more like a second mom and just wonderful! She took care of Manuel from the time he was 8 months old until he started school this past January) I pulled out of her driveway and didn't shed a tear! I was SO proud of myself (although I had shed enough tears the days prior to make up for it! :) But still, I didn't cry! My first week back to work is almost over (come on 4:30! :) and I can honestly say that although I'd love to be a stay-at-home mom financially we can't do it right now, so I'll settle for my children getting the best care I could ask for! :)

Hopefully it won't be two months before I post another blog! :)

She's here!

Mia Grace entered the world on Monday, January 18th. She was 7lbs 3 oz, 20 inches long and just the cutest little baby ever (well, tied with Manuel, of course :) She is named in honor of her angel triplet cousins, Mateo, Ian and Anthony...using the first letter of each of their names. She was born via c-section and we will be getting to go home tomorrow. I can't wait to settle in as a family of 4!!!

So close...

A Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!!! :) I hope this post finds you well and enjoying 2010. As my pastor said in church on Sunday, "I don't know what the future holds, but I do know that He holds the future" so I am trying to keep that my motto for the new year. Sometimes it's hard to relinquish control of things and just let God take over, but I'm trying! :)

Our little girl will be here in 13 days (or less) and we are ecstatic! Lots of changes for our family in January...Manuel started preschool yesterday (he did great! I cried like a baby for about 2 hours straight! :), our little girl will be here on January 18th, and then Manuel turns for on January 31st. SO much excitement and I thank God for providing these wonderful opportunities for our family. I know that we have SO much more then most people in this world and need to thank God every day for that!

Cheers to 2010. My next post will be pics of my baby girl (HOPEFULLY! I am so scared that "she" is going to come out a "he"-OH NO! :)

"D-day" is January 18th!

So, I got the word from my OB...my c-section is scheduled for January 18th at 7am! :) I can't decide if it's more nerve wracking or less nerve wracking knowing the day our daughter will be born (well, unless of course she decides to come early! :) I can't wait to meet her, see Who she looks like, and most importantly introduce Manuel to his little sister. Due to all the H1N1 precautions, Manuel will not be able to come the hospital :( so she'll be 4 days old before he gets to meet her, but I know their first meeting will be priceless! :) I could cry just thinking about it! :) These next 6 weeks are going to fly, especially with the holidays thrown in the mix. Life is about to get very interesting with two children in the house, but I can't wait! :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

So today is the day I wait for all year long, literally! :) Thanksgiving is my favorite day EVER! And not because of the food, although that would seem appropriate especially since I'm pregnant, but it has NOTHING to do with food! I love Thanksgiving because of my family. It sounds so cliche and trite, but it's true. I have the most amazing family ever! Not perfect, but amazing nonetheless. My immediate family and my extended family are a great group of people and I am SO lucky to have them. They are the main thing I have to be thankful for this year and every year, next to God, of course. I wish you and your families a VERY Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you have something to be thankful for!

11 weeks???

Oh my gracious, really??? ELEVEN weeks, that's it and our little girl will be here. I can hardly believe it! My pregnancy with Manuel seemed to fly by, but I was thinking that this one wouldn't...boy was I wrong! I can't believe in 11 Mondays from now our daughter will be born (she is a scheduled c-section). Time really does fly as you get older!!!! :)

My pregnancy is continuing to go well, so far. I can feel her kicking, moving and just having a good ol' dance party in there! :) I said that to Manuel the other day, "Wow, your sister is really have a dance party in there." He said, "What? With all of her baby friends?" Kids say the darndest things, I swear!

With the holidays fast approaching (My favorite holiday EVER-Thanksgiving!) I know time will continue to fly by. I just wanted to update for those of you that may be following. All is well in the Gomez household and I'm excited for the next few months and all it has in store for our family! :)
