Today, my sweet angel, you are NINE MONTHS OLD! Holy heck, that's SO close to 12 months! ;) I don't think I'm ready for it. The only thing I'm ready for is your "Winter ONEderland" first birthday theme! :) I am already collecting the baby food jars for the sno-globe favors.
Here are a few recent pics...
-I'm going to guess you weigh around 18 lbs and some ounces! :) You were 18 lbs 5 oz (if I recall) at your nephrology appt at the end of last month. We'll have an official weight on Monday (10/25/) when we head ot the ped for your 9 month check up. And I BELIEVE that you were 27.5 inches at the nephrology appt, but again, we'll get an exact length on Monday. I'm a bad mommy! I should have written that down after your appt! :)
-You are SO close to crawling (up on your knees and using your arms). You have mastered the army crawl, and it is HILARIOUS to watch! :) You really looking like you are in the Army, creeping under barbed wire or something! And you are FAST! This is such a huge milestone for your sweet girl because of your low muscle tone. As soon as you start "really" crawling we will cut physical therapy back to once every other week. You are almost "caught up"! YAY!!!
-You are in size 4 diapers. I'm not really sure why, because you are no where close to the size 4 weight range, but they don't leak, so we'll keep it that way! :) We use Huggies and I think they are cut smaller, so maybe that's why you're in a 4. Who knows!??! :)
-You are pretty much in 9 months, across the board, with your clothing. Some random 6 month items still fit you, but for the most part, you are 9+ months in clothing.
-You continue to spend your days at Linnie's while Mommy and Daddy are working. You are Linnie's baby and she loves you to pieces. You get so happy when we pull in her driveway! (But let me not fail to say, you get SOOOO excited when Mommy walks in to pick you up! ;)
-You continue to have physical therapy once/week with Mrs. Cindy. She absolutely adores you, and you adore her! :) As I mentioned above, we decided at your last visit, that once you are crawling ("for real" :) then we will cut the PT back to once every other week. You are making progress my sweet girl, and we couldn't be more proud!
-I'm not sure I should even type this, because I have a feeling I am going to jinx myself but for the last week or so, you have been sleeping AWESOME! You'll go down around 8pm-ish and sleep until 5ish (give or take) with no waking up in between. That is SOOO awesome compared to what you were doing! :) Usually, Mommy wakes up around 4:30am (Just out of habit, UGH!!), I'll go downstairs, warm up a bottle, and bring it back upstairs so when you wake up, it's ready for you. I can give it to you, and then Mommy can go back to sleep until 5:45am when my alarm goes off for work!
-I'm pretty sure that when you say "dada" now you are referring to the man who's heart you have, Daddy! You get so excited when you see him! You say "mama" a little more often now, but NOT in reference to me!!!! :) And your newest thing is "na-na" You don't have any "Nana's" so we are thinking you are calling your big brother, Manuel, when you say "na-na" Perhaps we are giving you too much credit :), but I made the connection yesterday when you kept saying it over and over again to him! :) Let's give it a few more weeks and we'll see if I'm right :)
-You are a pro at drinking water from your sippy cup. I'm going to guess that Dr. K is going to tell us that since you are doing SO great with your sippy that we can start putting your formula in there, but I'm not sure if I'M ready that for that! :)
-We just bought you Stage 3 food when Daddy went grocery shopping this weekend. So far, so good. I still don't think you eat enough, but I guess we can ask Dr. K on Monday. It's so funny because when I did all of this with your brother, I didn't over analyze any of it, research it, I just DID it, and he was totally fine. With you, I feel like I have to look everything up, follow by the book, etc. Isn't that how your supposed to be with your FIRST, not your SECOND!??!! :)
-You don't pull yourself up to stand yet, but if we stand you up, and have you hold on to something, you do well keeping yourself up. Again, with more PT, I think this will continue to improve.
-Mommy heard from your nephrologist (kidney specialist) this evening...the radiologist who read your kidney u/s was concerned with your kidney asymmetry. We will be scheduling a DMSA scan ASAP! I hope we get answers baby, so we can put all of this behind us!
I think that's about it Mia! You are my beautiful little girl and I look forward to each day with you, your daddy and your brother. You have my heart sweet girl (now, don't you EVER break it! ;)
